ÆTERNIS (duo, trio, quartet) is the chamber ensemble of composer David Atria. He directs his pieces on the piano while leaving room for improvisation to guitarist Sylvain Biscarrat and flautist Valentine Boisgontier. This mobile formula can be augmented with samples and / or a soprano.
The ÆTERNIS ensemble has entered a permanent creation residency at the MLS Gallery directed by MarieLys Singaravélou, since October 01, 2017. Presentations / concerts - as well as Multimedia proposals will take place all seasons.

THE MUSIC : David Atria's music explores, uninhibited, classical Western instruments, but also contemporary instruments. Sensual, polyphonic and ephemeral, his music questions our being in the world in a permanent search for a spiritual axis which would not neglect the body, the life drive, the incarnation. Finding the home of the soul as the ancients said, an intimate space, a space of meditation gives meaning to his approach. He collaborates regularly with videographers and dancers. The music played by the Ensemble - in concert or recorded, evokes a trajectory, an itinerary: from tragic to fullness, from drama to serenity, from suffering to joy, from melancholy to contemplation. Musically, despite a writing inspired by the classic, its aesthetic is postmodern and includes elements of pop and electronic music. It is part of the lineage of minimalist and neo-tonal composers.
